HOHOEMI WORLD is a world community where individuals connect on equal footing, transcending borders and cultures, to share a new way of being rooted in love and joy for the 21st century.
how it start...
HOHOEMI WORLD was founded in 2022 by the musicians maishinta (Shinta Sakamoto and Mai Sakamoto), inspired by the ideas of NFTs and web3.
The name originates from maishinta’s first work, HOHOEMI, a song born from the wish to create a world where people on Earth smile and celebrate life.
From 2024 onward, it has expanded beyond the scope of NFTs and web3 to become a third place where people come together to co-create a new world. Themes include music and art, consciousness exploration and meditation, cutting-edge technologies like AI and cryptocurrency, as well as lifestyle and education.

Blue Print of HOHOEMI WORLD
We see the 21st century as the dawn of a new paradigm for humanity, a time when we acquire a fresh worldview.
Today, cultures and communities rooted in the lands of nations will continue to evolve as distinct local identities, contributing to the Earth as a huge community. At the same time, we envision entirely new layers of human connection—facilitated by the internet, blockchain, and AI—manifesting in unprecedented ways.
HOHOEMI WORLD is one such endeavour: an attempt to create a new cultural layer on this planet.
We aspire to usher in an era where individuals are not confined by national or ethnic affiliations. Instead, they can choose which world to participate in—or even create—and freely live, work, and play across these worlds.
In this vision, multiple perspectives and layered worldviews will emerge simultaneously across the Earth. As VR and AR technologies evolve, it may even become physically possible to see the tangible world through different worldviews, altering our perception of reality based on the lens we choose.
This multiplicity of perspectives will allow people to participate in diverse layers of meaning, fostering fluid and decentralised relationships among individuals. We believe that such fluidity will help dissolve many of the issues previously seen as insurmountable. The decentralised ideals of web3 offer a useful foundation for realising these worlds.
The Role of Music
For us, music resonates from the worlds we wish to create. The name "Star Songs" for HOHOEMI WORLD’s musical works reflects this idea. Just as the stars once guided seafaring peoples, we believe music can lead humanity toward a radiant future.
It is our belief that deeply personal wishes resonate with the collective aspirations of humanity. Who was the first to discover the concept of a smile? Likely, many individuals uncovered this simple joy independently. Together, these discoveries culminated in the Buddha’s serene smile—a timeless symbol of enlightenment.
In this envisioned world of smiles, humanity will embody an inner state of enlightenment. We believe that this enlightened nature is the original state of human existence. However, over the past 2,000 years, the development of material civilisation has fostered a skewed perception of humanity, leading to a strong attachment to a narrow view of human identity.
We regard this as a deliberate and monumental choice by humanity to advance material civilisation. Recognising this allows us to discern what must come next.
We believe that the technologies and structures born of material civilisation should now serve humanity’s innate divinity.
The Three Pillars: Technology, Art, and Meditation
The pillars of technology, art, and meditation form the foundation of HOHOEMI WORLD. We believe that a meditative undercurrent enables us to be securely creative, empowering us to live authentically without being controlled by technology.
Our practice, S I N G A - Singing Meditation, is designed to quiet the endless stream of automatic thoughts, creating a mental and physical environment where the true self—the "higher self"—can flourish. This practice complements the wealth of existing knowledge on the planet, including breathwork, body techniques, and ancient wisdom.
We believe this foundational sense of being is essential for the emergence of a new civilisation and the humanity of the 21st century.

The material civilisation of the past two millennia has reached a critical juncture with the creation of AI. We see humanity’s role as guardians who guide AI and robots with love and clarity, transmitting the intuitive intelligence that transcends logical language. Through this, we aim to foster the harmonious development of the Earth and its living systems.

We will deepen our understanding of the new financial systems of the 21st century (such as currency and money), starting with Bitcoin, which is backed by the blockchain mechanism proposed in 2009 by the anonymous researcher Satoshi Nakamoto.
With the emergence of generative AI, it is certain that the world will rapidly advance into an AI-driven future.

Creating music of love and peace🌏
mai SAKAMOTO
At 15, Mai encountered a humanitarian aid worker in Nepal, which inspired her to visit the country alone at 17. This experience led to further meaningful connections, and at 26, she launched the Coffret Project, aimed at boosting women’s self-esteem through makeup.
She later founded the cosmetics brand Lalitpur to support women who are survivors of human trafficking.
As her public speaking engagements, including TED Talks, increased, she became fascinated by the power of the voice. She began writing and performing her own poetry. In April 2016, Mai met Shinta Sakamoto, her future husband, and sang on the track “HOHOEMI,” which was born from her being late to their first meeting. This marked the beginning of her music career as part of maishinta.
To date, Mai has released four albums as maishinta, sold at locations including Tower Records nationwide. In 2024, she co-founded SINGA with Shinta, a singing meditation project that helps people reconnect with warmth and the experience of love through vocal resonance.

Shinta SAKAMTO
Shinta started playing the piano at the age of 3 and began composing at 12. At 23, he co-founded Tokyo Recordings (now TOKA) with musical collaborators from his student days, including Nariaki Obukuro and Yaffle. His work spans film scores, songwriting for artists, and creating music for TV commercials.
In 2015, following the passing of his grandmother, Shinta traveled to London, where he began singing. In April 2016, he met Mai Mukaida, who later became his wife (now Mai Sakamoto), and they began creating music together. Shinta also established his own music label, 8th MAY Records, and has released over 30 albums (more than 300 tracks) under names such as maishinta and Shinta Sakamoto. In 2023, all 300 tracks from 8th MAY Records became available for streaming on maishinta music.
In 2024, as a practice to connect his creativity with peace-building, Shinta founded SINGA, a singing meditation project. Through music, he continues to engage in diverse activities aimed at making the world a more peaceful and loving place.
